TAKES FIRST PLACE AWARDCOLUMBIA, SC….The Wagener-Salley High School FFA Tool Identification Team took first place honors in the state agricultural engineering-related event held at the State Fair Grounds in Columbia recently, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs with the SC FFA organization.
Team members Michael Waites, Wesley Kinard, Rachel Enlow and Milessa Colvin were coached by Allen Williams, Agricultural Education teacher and FFA advisor at Wagener-Salley High School. Wesley Kinard and Rachel Enlow tied as the High Individual Scorers with a perfect score in the overall competition.
“Participation in this FFA-sponsored event is limited to first year agricultural education students in the ninth or tenth grades,” Parris said.
The Anderson District I & II Technology Center Team made up of Misty Norris, Ethan Jones, Travis Lowery and Josh McClain tied for State Runner-up in the competition. Their coach was Steve McGaha, Agricultural Education teacher and FFA advisor at the Center.
Hillcrest High School Team members Kayla Brown, Josiah Eberly, Kyle Lane and Robby Reed also tied for State Runner-up in the state finals. Their coach was Mark Earle, Agricultural Education teacher and FFA advisor.
