COLUMBIA, SC….The Central High School FFA Tractor Operators Team has advanced to the state finals after successfully competing in the agricultural engineering-related event at the Pee Dee Research and Education Center near Florence recently, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs with the SC FFA Association.

“Central FFA members Tyler Parker, Travis King, Kyle Strickland and Evan Rivers competed against high school teams from throughout the Pee Dee region and earned the right to participate in the state competition at the State Fair Grounds in Columbia in April”, Parris said. Travis King was the third high individual scorer in the over-all event.

The Team was coached by Tim Maye and Ashli Young, Agricultural Education teachers at Central High School.

The mission of the FFA is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
