COLUMBIA, SC….David Brooks, Agricultural Education Teacher at Hillcrest High School, Simpsonville, SC, has been named recipient of the State Sports Turf Managers Baseball Field of the Year Award for 2006, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs with the SC FFA organization.

Brooks was recognized at the annual conference of the South Carolina Sports Turf Managers Association in Columbia, SC, on Tuesday, December 12. The award was presented by board members Bruce Viehman of Inman and Alan Wilson of Lexington.
Bruce H. Suddeth, Director of Landscape Services, University of South Carolina Upstate, Spartanburg, presided at the conference. Clark Cox, Sports Turf Manager, University of South Carolina in Columbia and a former State FFA officer in North Carolina, is the new president of the association and David Brooks is president-elect.
Brooks is a graduate of Clemson University with a BS degree in Animal Science and a MS degree in Agricultural Education.
