STATE FFA OFFICERS ATTEND TRUCK AND TRACTOR PULL EVENT
COLUMBIA, SC…..State FFA President Amanda Hiott of Williston and State Secretary Ashton Berry of Saluda attended the 29th annual Saluda County Young Farmer-sponsored Grand National Truck and Tractor Pull on Friday evening, August 11th, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs with the SC FFA organization.
Miss Hiott addressed the hundreds gathered at the Young Farmer Stadium in the Saluda Recreation Complex. She brought greetings from the South Carolina FFA Association and commended the Saluda Young Farmer organization for their sponsorship of the event and their outstanding college scholarship program. Ashton Berry offered the invocation during the ceremony.
Six local students were recognized and awarded a total of $8000 in college scholarships by Roman Whitfield, president of the Saluda Young Farmer Chapter.
Amanda Nichols, Agricultural Education teacher at Saluda High School, serves as advisor to the Young Farmer chapter.
