MILFORD WINS SCHOLARSHIP AT STATE FAIR
COLUMBIA, SC…Madeline Milford of Abbeville, a graduate of Dixie High School where she served as president of the FFA chapter, was awarded a $2000 college scholarship by the SC Farm Bureau Federation at the conclusion of the Dairy Cattle Show at the South Carolina State Fair on Sunday, October 15.
“Madeline’s selection for the scholarship was determined by a written test on the dairy industry, her dairy cattle showmanship and judging ability, her record book of accomplishments in dairying and an interview with dairy professionals,” according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs with the SC FFA Association.
Rick Doran, a dairy farmer in Newberry County, presented the check to Madeline on behalf of the SC Farm Bureau organization.
Madeline, a freshman at Clemson University majoring in Animal and Veterinary Science, was Valedictorian of her graduating class. She is the daughter of Sam and Sandra Milford. Her FFA advisor is Barry Edmonds, Agricultural Education Teacher at Dixie High School.
