YON AWARDED SCHOLARSHIP AT STATE FAIR

Sally Yon of Ridge Spring, a member of the Ridge Spring-Monetta High School FFA Chapter, was awarded a $1500 college scholarship by the SC Farm Bureau Federation during the Swine Show at the South Carolina State Fair on Tuesday, October 17.

“Sally’s selection for the scholarship was based on a written examination, her swine showmanship skills and overall knowledge of the swine industry,” said John W. Parris, a spokesman for the SC FFA Association.

Larry McKenzie, an official with the SC Farm Bureau presented the check to Sally.

Sally is the daughter of Kevin and Lydia Yon of Ridge Spring. Her FFA advisor is Michael Crim, Agricultural Education teacher at Ridge Spring-Monetta High School.
