LEXINGTON FFA WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT TEAM TAKES TOP STATE HONORS

COLUMBIA, SC…The Lexington Technology Center FFA Wildlife Management Team took first place honors in the State Finals held in Pendleton, SC, recently, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs with the SC FFA organization.

Team members Branden Baker, Ilya Timtchenko, Suzette Sharpe and Daniel Rummel were coached by Josh Waters of Gilbert, SC, a senior at Clemson University majoring in Agricultural Education, who is practice teaching at the Center under the supervision of Agricultural Science teacher Tommy Harmon. Ilya Timchenko was the high individual scorer and Daniel Rummel was the third high individual scorer in the over-all state competition.

The state competition, co-sponsored by Quail Unlimited in concert with the SC FFA Association, was conducted by Clemson University Agricultural Education Administrative staff and officials with the SC Department of Natural Resources.

The mission of the FFA is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
