ADAIR OUTDOOR EDUCATION FOUNDATION TO HOST FESTIVAL

LAURENS, SC…The Joe Adair Outdoor Education Center Foundation, in concert with the Laurens County Chamber of Commerce, will present the first annual MOUNTAIN FOOT FESTIVAL, Saturday, April 21, 2007, at the Clinton House Plantation, in observance of the tenth anniversary of the Center, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs with the SC FFA Association.

. The activities get underway at 10:00 AM with shooting clays, followed by Field Events at 1:30 PM including trail rides and backpacking, nature artists, Walk and Talk with renowned naturalist and TV personality Rudy Mancke, pioneer camp, kayaking and canoeing, National Wild Turkey Federation biologists with live critters and retriever trials, and the American Eagle Foundation presentation featuring birds of prey.

At 5:00 PM, there will be a sit down dinner which will include shrimp and grits, roast beef and red skin mashed potatoes, etc.

The Cowboy Poet from Montana will provide entertainment from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM.

Beginning at 7:00 PM, there will be a Barn Dance featuring indigenous mountain music and dance with the Stoney Creek Boys and Glenn Bannerman.

A limited number of tickets will be available until April 11 to FFA members, parents and advisors at $45 each which includes the dinner. To purchase tickets send a check made payable to Adair Outdoor Education Foundation and mail to 110 Scout Creek Ct., Laurens, SC 29360. Be sure to include return mailing address so the tickets may be sent promptly. Tickets will not be available on the day of the event.
