CROCKER NAMED VP OF SC YOUNG FARMER-AGRIBUSINESS ASSOCIATION
COLUMBIA, SC….Twenty year old FFA Alumnus Tyler Crocker of Union has been named vice president of the South Carolina Young Farmer-Agribusiness Association, according to John W. Parris, spokesperson for the organization.
Crocker, president of the Union County Young Farmer-Agribusiness Chapter, is in his final year at Spartanburg Technical College where he is majoring in Horticulture Technology. He is also president of Crocker’s Landscaping, LLC, an installation and maintenance company.
Crocker, a third generation beef cattle producer, is presently farming in partnership with his father with a sole proprietorship of 140 acres and a leasehold ownership of an additional 450 acres. They maintain an average inventory of 150 head of cattle.
“The South Carolina Young Farmer-Agribusiness Association has one of the largest memberships in the National Young Farmer Education Association of any state in the nation,” Parris said. “ Tyler’s training in the FFA will be a valuable asset as he carries out his responsibilities in this statewide agricultural education leadership position,” he added.
Cleveland Jackson, Head of the Agricultural Education Department at Union High School, is advisor to the local Young Farmer-Agribusiness Association.
