SC FFA-SPONSORED STATE LEGISLATORS APPRECIATION DAY CEREMONY AND LUNCHEON
COLUMBIA, SC…Hundreds of FFA members from chapters throughout South Carolina will gather in Columbia, SC, Wednesday, February 21, 2007, for their annual State Legislators Appreciation Day activities.
Accompanied by advisors, parents, school administrators and other supporters, the FFA members will visit with their respective legislators in their offices, be introduced to the House and Senate while in Session, and participate in a recognition Ceremony on the north steps of the State Capitol.

The Ceremony, which will begin at 11 AM, will feature presentations by Governor Mark Sanford or his representative; State Representative William D. Witherspoon, Chairman of the House Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee; and National FFA Vice President Jennifer Himburg.
The National FFA Vice President will present Honorary American FFA Degrees to some outstanding supporters and American FFA Degrees to some outstanding members.
The special day will conclude with the first official Luncheon in observance of National FFA Week for SC FFA members and their guests at Seawell’s Restaurant adjacent the State Fair Grounds beginning at 12:15 PM. Program participants will include State Commissioner of Agriculture Hugh Weathers; National FFA Vice President Jennifer Himburg; the North Carolina FFA Association President and the South Carolina FFA Officer Team, led by State President Amanda Hiott.
In cooperation with the State Budget and Control Board’s Office of General Services and the City of Columbia, most parking meters adjacent the State Capitol will be “bagged” for use by FFA members and friends on February 21.
