COLUMBIA, SC…The Adult Division of the Agricultural Education Department at Barnwell County Career Center has been named the Outstanding Program in the Southern states and one of the top six in the nation by the National Association of Agricultural Educators, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs for agricultural education in South Carolina.
Mindy Sandifer, Agricultural Education Teacher at the Center, received the prestigious award at the national conference of agricultural educators in Atlanta, Georgia, in December.
“Mrs. Sandifer is known and respected throughout the nation for her exemplary leadership in planning and implementing a superb Adult Agricultural Education Program,” Parris said. “She has also been named the Outstanding Young Agricultural Educator in South Carolina and recipient of the National Teachers Turn the Key Award presented by the National Association of Agricultural Educators,” he added.
A graduate of Clemson University with a BS Degree and Master’s Degree in Agricultural Education, Mrs. Sandifer is married to Jeff Sandifer, a fourth generation farmer who is serving as state vice president of the SC Young Farmer and Agribusiness Association.
