WAGGONER AWARDED AGRICULTURE COMMISSIONER’S CUP
AT SC STATE FAIR
COLUMBIA, SC….Emily Waggoner of Pendleton was awarded the State Commissioner of Agriculture’s Cup at the SC State Fair on Sunday, October 14, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs with the SC FFA organization.
The presentation was made by Commissioner of Agriculture Hugh Weathers at an awards and recognition ceremony during the closing session of the Dairy Cattle Show at the State Fair.
Criteria for selecting the recipient of this prestigious award includes the student’s success in the dairy business, including production of top quality animals, accomplishment in showmanship and knowledge of the dairy industry.
Emily is a former state FFA officer and has served as an Agricultural Ambassador for the South Carolina Farm Bureau.
A daughter of Steve and Kitty Waggoner of Pendleton, she is a junior at Clemson University majoring in Animal and Veterinary Science.
