LORIS FFA TEAM TO COMPETE IN NATIONAL FINALS

CLEMSON, SC…The Loris FFA Farm Business Management Team took first place honors in the state finals held in conjunction with the SC FFA Convention at Clemson University recently, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs with the SC FFA organization.

Team members Michelle Williams, Megan Stevens, Derek Booth and Lauren Todd along with FFA Advisor Nate Bellamy, Agricultural Education Instructor at Loris High School, were awarded expense-paid trips to the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana, scheduled later this year, to compete in the National Finals. Lauren Todd was the high individual scorer in the state competition. The event is sponsored by the SC FFA Foundation in concert with the SC FFA Association.

The Aynor team, coached by FFA Advisor Stacey Bazen, was named Runner-up and the Ridge Spring-Monetta team, coached by Michael Crim, placed third in the state finals.

The mission of the FFA is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
