HOLMES AWARDED SCHOLARSHIP AT NATURAL RESOURCES INSTITUTE
GREENWOOD, SC…Jonathan Holmes of Johnston, a member and past officer of the Strom Thurmond Technology Center FFA Chapter, was awarded a $500 scholarship at the closing session of the South Carolina Natural Resources Institute held at Lander University in Greenwood, June 25-29.
The scholarship was sponsored by the South Carolina Soil and Water Conservation Society, a cooperating partner with the Institute.
Scholarship recipients are determined by an examination on the subject matter discussed and hands-on experiences related to natural resources throughout the week.
Jonathan will enter Clemson University this fall to major in Horticulture.
The Institute is co-sponsored by Lander University, the SC Department of Natural Resources, the SC Association of Conservation Districts and the SC Conservation Districts Foundation.
