SKELTON CAREER CENTER FFA AGRONOMY TEAM TAKES STATE HONORS
COLUMBIA, SC…The B.J. Skelton Career Center FFA Agronomy team took first place honors in the State Finals held in Columbia recently, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs with the SC FFA organization.
“Team members Brooke Barnes, Emilee Barnes, Emily Rose McCollum and Aaron Porter, along with their advisor, David Jensen were awarded expense-paid trips to the 2008 National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana, to compete in the National Finals,” Parris said.

Green Sea-Floyds High School FFA members Anthony Owens, Dylan Roberts and Dylan Collins were named the State Runner-up team. Their advisor is Lee Mayfield, Agricultural education Instructor at Green Sea Floyds High School.
Barnwell team members Amber Gunnells, Jonathan Myers and Robb Sanders took third place honors in the very comprehensive agricultural education career development event. Their advisor is Mindy Sandifer, Agricultural Education Instructor at the Barnwell County Career Center.
The South Carolina FFA Agronomy competition is co-sponsored by the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service and the South Carolina FFA Foundation.
