CRESCENT FFA CHAPTER LIVESTOCK SHOW

Crescent High School FFA Livestock Show is one of the highlights of the year for members, advisors, parents, school administrators and others, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs with the SC FFA organization.

Twenty-five FFA members and at least ten students from the Starr-Iva Middle School demonstrate their skill at showing top quality beef animals to a large crowd of friends and supporters. The FFA members compete for scholarships and a trip to the National FFA Convention.

At the end of the show, parents, grandparents, school board members, faculty and administrators enter the show ring with a borrowed animal to compete for the adult showmanship honors.

This annual show marks the beginning of Crescent FFA members’ participation in livestock competition at fairs across the upstate, north Georgia and the South Carolina State Fair where they exhibit the largest number of beef cattle of any FFA chapter in the state.

Crescent Agricultural Education Instructors Tim Keown and Roger Estridge serve as the FFA advisors.
