WESTMINSTER, SC…State FFA President Flint Holbrook of Clover, SC, participated in the 2008 South Carolina Apple Festival in Westminster, SC, on Friday, September 5, 2008, by attending the Westminster Rotary Club-sponsored Dignitaries Luncheon at the Westminster Baptist Church Social Hall.
Flint Holbrook (left) with Radio Station WGOG News Reporter.During the Luncheon, Holbrook had an opportunity to meet Rotary Club President Sandra Powell and a number of Rotarians, visit with US Congressman and FFA Alumnus Gresham Barrett and State Senator and FFA Alumnus Thomas Alexander; State Representative Bill Whitmire; Founding Chairman of the Festival and former member of the SC House of Representatives Cecil Sandifer; Dr. Randy Keasler, Senior Pastor at Westminster Baptist Church and a number of other dignitaries. Harry B. “Buck” Limehouse, State Secretary of Transportation, was the guest speaker at the Luncheon.
Following the Luncheon, Holbrook was interviewed by a news reporter from Radio Station WGOG, a prominent radio voice in the Up-state area. Later in the afternoon, he led the West Oak High School FFA Float in the parade through downtown Westminster riding in a new truck driven by West Oak FFA Advisor Gwen McPhail.
Holbrook, accompanied to Westminster by former state FFA vice president Bryan Lowman of Aiken and John W. Parris, state director of public affairs with the SC FFA Association, also visited with FFA advisors and students in the West Oak High School Agricultural Education Department.
