Meredith Walker, a member of the Union Equine team, was the high individual scorer in the state finals. She was coached by Annette Vaughan, an agricultural education instructor and FFA advisor at the Union Career and Technology Center.

“The equine science competition is among the most challenging of all the career development events conducted by the SC FFA Association,” Mr. Parris said. “It is also one of the most popular of all the agri-science competitions held at the state and national level,” he added.

The mission of the FFA is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
