MANNING FFA PARLIAMENTARY PROCEDURE TEAM IN NATIONAL FINALS

COLUMBIA, SC…The Manning High School FFA Parliamentary Procedure team took first place honors in the state finals held in conjunction with the state FFA convention at Clemson University, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs with the South Carolina FFA organization.

Team members Shereka Williams, Deleshia McFadden, Catelyn Anderson, Myesha Rush, Ashley O’Brien, Darius Blanding, Stephanie Mack and Andrea Coker along with FFA Advisor Michael Haynes, Agricultural Education Instructor at the high school were awarded expense-paid trips to the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana later this year to compete in the National Finals.

Abbeville team members Connor Lewis, Matthew Ellis, Kayla Price, Caroline Sherard, Brittany Hilley and Scott Silk were named the state Runner-up team. They were coached by FFA advisor Fred Raines, Agricultural Education Instructor at Abbeville High School.

Crescent team members Chris Cobb, Bethany Vierling, Lauren Hunsinger, Molly Carey, Stephanie Cocchia and Daryn Hannah placed third in the state finals. They were coached by FFA advisor Tim Keown, Agricultural Education Instructor at Crescent High School.

“The Parliamentary Procedure competition is among the most challenging of all the FFA-sponsored career development events and an essential part of agricultural leadership training,” Parris said.
