SC FFA TO PARTNER WITH WORLD RENOWN FISHING TOURNAMENT

COLUMBIA, SC….The South Carolina FFA Association will partner with FLW Outdoors, the largest fishing-tournament organization in the world, during the Forrest Wood Cup set for Lake Murray, August 14-17, 2008. The Forrest Wood Cup is bass fishing’s world championship, offering a $2 million cash purse with up to $1 million going to the individual who is crowned the champion.

The SC FFA will have an exhibit at the Columbia Metropolitan Center in conjunction with the Family Fun Zone and Outdoor Show beginning Thursday, August 14 through Sunday, August 17. An expense paid trip to the 2008 National FFA Convention will be awarded to the FFA chapter with the largest total attendance, including members and family who register at the FFA exhibit during the four-day show. The announcement of the winning chapter will be made by State FFA President Flint Holbrook on Sunday afternoon before the final 5 p.m. weigh-in at the Colonial Center.

Other highlights of the tournament include free concerts each day. A concert featuring Tracy Byrd will be held Sunday at 4 p.m. Hank Parker and Jimmy Houston Fishing Seminars will be held on Saturday and Sunday. A Youth Fishing Clinic is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Sunday.
