BRANCHVILLE FFA AWARDED PALMETTO PRIDE GRANT

COLUMBIA, SC….The Branchville High School FFA Chapter was awarded a Challenge for the Environment Grant by the Palmetto Pride organization at a ceremony in Columbia recently, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs with the FFA organization.

Alex Funchess, president of the Branchville High School student body and an FFA member, and Ethan Smoak, president of the local FFA chapter, joined Pat Black, agricultural education instructor and FFA advisor, in Columbia to receive the grant.

The FFA members plan to use the funds to beautify the school campus, the Branchville community and deliver the anti-litter message to their fellow high school students, elementary school students and the community at large in Branchville.

Mr. Black said the goals of the project will fit nicely with the mission of the FFA which is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership personal growth and career success.
