SC FFA ALUMNI TO PROMOTE NATIONAL AG DAY
COLUMBIA, SC….The Agricultural Council of America has invited the SC FFA Alumni Organization to join in the promotion of National Ag Day. The event is celebrated on the first day of spring, Friday, March 20, which is during National Ag Week, March 15-21, 2009. A major effort will be to share the success story of Agricultural Education in South Carolina in the twenty-first century.
Ag Day is all about celebrating the contribution of agriculture to our everyday lives. It is designed to encourage every American to discover how food and fiber are produced, recognize the value of the agriculture industry in maintaining a strong economy and appreciate the significant role of agriculture in providing more and better quality food at affordable prices.
Agricultural Education instructors and FFA advisors in South Carolina are encouraged to review the National Ag Day Planning Guide which is attached or visit www.agday.org for additional information and suggestions on how to successfully celebrate this unique agriculture public relations event.
