WOODMONT FFA TEAM PLACES FIRST IN STATE TOOL ID FINALS

COLUMBIA, SC…The Woodmont High School FFA Tool Identification team took

first place honors in the state agricultural engineering-related competition held in Columbia, SC, recently according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs with the SC FFA organization.

Team members Jordan Bryson, Chris Organ, David Thompson and Kendal Fant were coached by Matt Rollins, Agricultural Education instructor and FFA advisor at Woodmont High. David Thompson, Kendal Fant and Jordan Bryson were recognized for making a perfect score in the event

Wagener-Salley students Sam Clarke, Trey Crosby, Dakota Mason and Brandon Medlin were recognized as the State Runner-Up team. They were coached by Allen Williams, Agricultural Education instructor and FFA advisor at Wagener-Salley High School.

McBee FFA members Lee Freeman, Clay Garrison, Dallas Rhoad and Thomas Hobgood took third place honors in the state event. They were coached by Pat Earle, Agricultural Education instructor and FFA advisor at McBee High School. Lee Freeman and Clay Garrison were also recognized for making a perfect score in the finals.

“Participation in the FFA-sponsored career development is limited to first year agricultural education students in the ninth or tenth grades,” Mr. Parris said.

The mission of the FFA is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
