BELTON-HONEA PATH FFA WILDLIFE TEAM IN STATE FINALS

COLUMBIA, SC…Belton-Honea Path High School FFA Wildlife Management Team members Brant Young, Tyler Ford, Carolyn Cruise and Elliott Dunn took third place honors in the state finals held at the Georgetown campus of Horry-Georgetown Technical College recently, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs with the SC FFA organization. Tyler Ford was the third high individual scorer in the state event. Agricultural education instructor and FFA advisor Glenn Stevens and science instructor and team coach Beth Ann Melton accompanied the students to Georgetown.

The event, sponsored by Horry-Georgetown Technical College, was planned and coordinated by Jim Westerhold, associate professor of wildlife, with assistance from Steve Sanderson, associate state director of agricultural education with Clemson University and state FFA officers Adam Gore and Krista McCuen.

“The Wildlife Management event is among the most popular of all the FFA career development events afforded agricultural education students in South Carolina,” Parris said.

The mission of the FFA is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
