SC FFA MEMBERS AWARDED STATE FAIR SCHOLARSHIPS

State FFA Vice President Emmanuel Bankston of Beaufort, State FFA Star Farmer Sally Yon of Ridge Spring and Soloist Leon Lee of Manning were recently awarded a $2000 college scholarship by the South Carolina State Fair, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs with the SC FFA organization.

Bankston and Yon are students at Clemson University majoring in Agricultural Education and Lee is at USC-Beaufort majoring in Elementary Education.

“These three FFA members were among 50 outstanding students from throughout South Carolina selected to receive a State Fair scholarship in 2009,” Parris said.

The mission of the FFA is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through Agricultural Education.
