REINHARDT AND SHELTON ATTEND GROOMFEST

Fort Mill High School agricultural education instructor Kristen Mackey Reinhardt and Margaret Shelton, B.J. Skelton Career Center agricultural education instructor, attended the Carolina Groomfest held in Columbia recently, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs for Agricultural Education.

The event, sponsored by the National Dog Groomer’s Association of America, included grooming seminars, a trade show, industry certification, grooming competitions and face-to-face talks with grooming professionals.

As a result of their participation in this unique animal science educational opportunity, Mrs. Reinhardt and Ms. Shelton are placing greater emphasis on grooming in their Small Animal Care courses.

“Small Animal Care, a new course offering in the Agricultural Education curriculum in secondary schools, continues to grow in popularity with enrollment increasing significantly every year,” Parris said.
