MCLEOD FARM OFFERS EXCEPTIONAL AGRI-TOURISM EXPERIENCES

The McLeod Family Farm of McBee, SC, offers exciting, enjoyable and educational experiences for people of all ages throughout the year highlighted by a Strawberry Festival, a Peach Festival and a Pumpkin Festival, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs with the SC FFA organization.

“Agri-tourism opportunities in October and November include Maze Tours, Wagon Rides and Pumpkin Tours,” Parris said. “During April and May the farm offers educational tours reaching four to six thousand students,” he added. Tours of the orchards are available during the summer months.

Peaches are the signature fruit of McLeod Farms with 30 varieties on 700 acres. Other crops grown and sold at their Farm Market include strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, sweet corn, squash, cucumbers, eggplant, bell peppers, okra, tomatoes, cantaloupes, watermelons, scuppernongs and muscadines. The farm is also widely known for its Antique Museum and Big’s Market and Restaurant.

The Farm Market is located 4.5 miles south of McBee on highway 151. For more information about McLeod Farms call 877-789-9252 or 843-335-8335.
