Palmetto Pride is accepting applications for Challenge for the Environment grants through October 26, 2009, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs for the SC FFA organization.
Available to any accredited school, the grant is designed to get elementary, middle or high school students involved in activities that focus on the importance of keeping the state clean and attractive while promoting a sense of pride in the community.
“FFA chapters in South Carolina are recipients of these grants in the $2500-$5000 range each year,” Parris said. “This is a unique opportunity for more FFA groups to partner with Palmetto Pride to make a positive difference in the attractiveness of school grounds, local communities or counties,” he added.
