SOCASTEE FFA OFFICERS VOLUNTEER AT SC FARM BUREAU CONVENTION
Socastee High School FFA Officers Colby Purvis, Dylan Way, Danny Hope, Colin Sellers, Dylan Smith and Lee Gramstadt volunteered to assist in operating the Dairy Bar at the South Carolina Farm Bureau Federation’s annual convention in Myrtle Beach on Thursday, December 3, 2009, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs with the SC FFA organization.
The FFA officer participation in the convention was arranged by Harry DuBose, recently retired Agricultural Educator at Carolina Forest High School, and Socastee Agricultural Educator and FFA Advisor Darrell W. Ricketts.
The Dairy Bar was a very popular addition to the convention amenities and gave the FFA officers an opportunity to meet hundreds of the delegates in attendance at the agricultural convention.
South Carolina Farm Bureau Federation President David Winkles is a recipient of the prestigious Honorary American FFA Degree by the 507,000 member National FFA Organization in recognition of his support of Agricultural Education and the FFA.
