COLUMBIA, SC….Jeremy Raley, a 2009 graduate of McBee High School, was recently named the State Star in Agricultural Placement by the SC FFA Association during a special ceremony at Clemson University, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs with the SC FFA organization.
“Jeremy received an engraved plaque and a check for $1200 from the SC FFA Foundation to defray expenses for him and McBee FFA advisor, Pat Earle, to attend the National FFA Convention later this year,” Parris said.
An employee of the McLeod Farms in McBee, Jeremy is an agricultural technician responsible for major farm equipment maintenance including the combine and sprayers. He also plays a major role in the installation of the drip irrigation system used in the production of strawberries. In addition to these significant responsibilities, Jeremy assists at the McLeod Farmers Market as a salesman when his schedule permits.
Jeremy, an active member of the McBee FFA Chapter, has attended the state and national FFA conventions. His FFA advisor is Pat Earle, Agricultural Education instructor at McBee High School.
The son of Dennis and Beverly Raley, Jeremy will attend the Darlington-Florence Technical College this fall while continuing his employment at McLeod Farms.
