CLEMSON, SC…Benjamin Derrick, a member of the Ridge Spring-Monetta High School FFA Chapter, was named the Lower State Regional Star in Agricultural Placement for 2009 by the SC FFA Association at a recent ceremony on the Clemson University campus, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs with the SC FFA organization.
Benjamin is employed by Derrick Equipment and Lawn Care in Ridge Spring where he services tractors, maintains the inventory and assists customers.
A 2009 graduate of Ridge Spring-Monetta High School, Benjamin will be attending Tri-County Technical College this fall.
Benjamin is the son of Dean and Amy Derrick of Ridge Spring, SC. His FFA advisor is Michael Crim, agricultural education instructor at the high school.
