WHITAKER IS OUTSTANDING FFA SENIOR

COLUMBIA, SC…Brooke Whitaker, a 2010 graduate of Pelion High School, was named recipient of the Outstanding FFA Senior Award by the Pelion Chapter at the recent FFA Awards and Recognition banquet, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs with the SC FFA organization.

Brooke has served as secretary, vice president and president of the Pelion FFA Chapter. She was also a member of the state championship FFA Wildlife Management team and participated in other career development events such as Soil Identification and Land Treatment competitions.

An avid supporter of agriculture and natural resources education, Brooke will attend Midlands Technical College this fall with plans to transfer to Clemson University where she will major in Wildlife and Fisheries Biology.

Brooke is the daughter of Jimmie and Christi Whitaker of Lexington and her FFA advisor is Frank R. Stover, Jr., Agricultural Education instructor at Pelion High School.

The mission of the FFA is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through Agricultural Education.
