AMICK NAMED SC FARM BUREAU YOUTH AMBASSADOR
Will Amick of Lexington, SC, was named State Youth Ambassador for the SC Farm Bureau at their state conference held in Myrtle beach, SC, in December 2010, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs with the SC FFA Association. He competed against young people from throughout South Carolina in the state finals.
As state winner, Will was awarded a $2000 college scholarship by the SC Farm Bureau. He had previously received a $1000 scholarship from the Lexington County Farm Bureau as their youth ambassador.
A 2008 graduate of Lexington High School, Will was named the Outstanding Student at the Lexington Technology Center during his senior year. He served as president of the Lexington Technology Center FFA Chapter in 2007-08 and state FFA vice president in 2008-09.
Upon being elected to a state FFA office, Will was selected at the to represent South Carolina and the National FFA Organization as a participant in the first Agriculture Study Tour to the Peoples Republic of China in January 2009.
Will is a junior at Clemson University where he is majoring in Applied Economics and Statistics in Agribusiness.
