Kelsey Bridges, a member of the Clover FFA Chapter, was awarded a $2000 college scholarship by the SC Farm Bureau Federation at the conclusion of the Junior Dairy Cattle Show held in conjunction with the 2010 SC State Fair.
“Kelsey’s selection for the scholarship was determined by a written examination on the dairy industry, her dairy animal showmanship skills and an interview with a dairy professional,” said John W. Parris, state director of public affairs with the SC FFA organization.
Dairy farmer Rick Doran of Newberry, a member of the SC Farm Bureau Board of Directors, presented the check to Kelsey during an awards ceremony at the fair.
A former state FFA officer and now a freshman at Tri-County Technical College in Pendleton, SC, Kelsey will transfer to Clemson University in 2011 to major in Agricultural Education.
Carrie C. Bolin, Agricultural Education Instructor at Clover High School, is Kelsey’s FFA advisor.
