HOLBROOK RECEIVES NATIONAL ENGINEERING AWARD
Former State FFA President K. Flint Holbrook of Clover, SC, a sophomore at Oklahoma State University, was named the national winner in the Preprofessional Poster Competition held in conjunction with the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers annual conference in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania this summer, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs with the SC FFA Association.. This is the fourth year that an Oklahoma State student has taken top honors in the competition.
Holbrook, majoring in Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering, entered Oklahoma State with $100,000 in scholarships. He is involved in researching the use of algae as a source of alternative fuel and active in the university student government.
The son of Flint and Beverly Holbrook, Flint’s high school FFA advisor was Carrie Bolin, agricultural education instructor at Clover High School.
