MANNING FFA KNOWLEDGE BOWL TEAM HEADED TO NATIONAL FINALS

COLUMBIA, SC…The Manning FFA Knowledge Bowl Team will participate in the national finals during the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana, later this year after taking first place honors in the state finals held at Clemson University recently, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs with the SC FFA organization.

Team members Monica Nelson, Courtni Young, Hugh McFadden and Kordell Walker along with FFA Advisor Michael Haynes, Agricultural Education instructor at Manning High School, were awarded expense-paid trips to the National FFA Convention by the SC FFA Foundation.

“The Knowledge Bowl career development event is open to first year FFA members enrolled in an Agricultural Education course,” Mr. Parris said.

The mission of the FFA is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through Agricultural Education.
