GILBERT FFA PARTICIPATES IN PEACH FESTIVAL
The Gilbert FFA Chapter participated in the 52 nd annual Lexington County Peach Festival Parade on July 3 with an attractive float which had been constructed by FFA members and Advisor Derrick Cooper in the Gilbert High School Agricultural Education Engineering Laboratory.
FFA members who rode on the float in the parade include Tori Crouch, Amber Shealy, Reta Miller, Brooke Craft, Brandon Cook, Kenny Keisler and Austin C. Drafts.
Special guests of the Gilbert chapter for the Festival were Waylon Priester of Brunson, SC, president of the Clemson University Collegiate FFA Organization, and Perry Loftis, president of the Crescent FFA Chapter, Iva, SC, who was recently elected Governor of Palmetto Boys State.
Gilbert FFA President Reta Miller, Vice President Austin C. Drafts and Mr. Cooper were joined by Mr. Priester, Mr. Loftis and John W. Parris, state director of public affairs with the SC FFA Association, at the Dignitaries Luncheon as guests of the Peach Festival.
