STATE FFA OFFICERS ATTEND SALUDA TRUCK AND TRACTOR PULL

SALUDA, SC…State FFA President Katie Simpson of Abbeville and State FFA Secretary Troy Dobbins of Townville attended the Saluda County Young Farmer and Agribusiness nationally recognized Truck and Tractor Pull held August 13-15, 2010, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs with the SC FFA organization.

Simpson attended the opening day ceremony at the Young Farmer Stadium in the County Recreation Complex which included the awarding of four college scholarships to area students by Russell Miller, president of the local Agricultural Education organization. She also offered the invocation at the beginning of competition.

Dobbins attended the event on Saturday and Sunday and offered the invocation at the opening session of the Sunday afternoon competition.

Amanda Nichols, Agricultural Education instructor at Saluda High School, serves as the professional advisor to the FFA and Young Farmer and Agribusiness associations.
