KEOWN IN NATIONAL AGRI-SPEAKING FINALS
COLUMBIA, SC….Tim Keown, Agricultural Education Teacher and Young Farmer-Agribusiness Advisor at Creek Bridge High School in Marion County, participated in a Leadership Reflections event for adult agricultural officials at the recent National Young Farmer Education Institute in Orlando, Florida, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs with the SC Young Farmer-Agribusiness Association.
Keown spoke on CONSERVING CLEAN WATER WHILE UTILIZING PHOSPHATE. In his remarks, he said, “farmers know that the conservation of clean, usable water rests on our shoulders to a large degree”. He added, “farmers recognize that the implementation of best management practices on their farm land is a key to minimizing the impact of leached phosphorus”.
While attending the national conference, Keown participated in an Agricultural Public Affairs Seminar entitled “Agricultural Professionals and the Media”.
Keown, a native of Anderson County and a former FFA member, is a graduate of Clemson University with a BS Degree in Agricultural Education.
