PANTAS RECEIVES STATE’S TOP AGRIBUSINESS AWARD

COLUMBIA, SC….Stephen Pantas, owner of Pageland Hardware, Pageland, SC, was presented the Outstanding Agribusiness Award by the South Carolina Young Farmer-Agribusiness Association in Hilton Head, January 21-22, 2005, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs with the association.
The prestigious state award is sponsored by the Pee Dee Federal Savings Bank of Marion, SC, as a special project of the Young Farmer-Agribusiness Association.
“The Young Farmer-Agribusiness organization is the primary Adult Education component of Agricultural Departments in South Carolina high schools,” Parris said. “Agribusiness is a major part of Agricultural Education and the agricultural economy,” he added.
Tim Maye and Ashli Young, Agricultural Educators at Central High School, serve as advisors to the Central Young Farmer Chapter.
