Edsel Williams Named President of the National Young Farmer Education Association |
COLUMBIA, SC….Edsel Williams of Britton’s Neck, SC, is the new president of the National Young Farmer Education Association, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs for the SC Young Farmer-Agribusiness Association. He was elected at a national conference of the organization in Orlando, Florida, recently.
A successful Marion County farmer, Williams produces beef cattle, soybeans, corn and small grain. He serves as the executive treasurer of the SC Young Farmer-Agribusiness Association and a member of the SC Beef Board. A long-time member of the Britton’s Neck Young Farmer-Agribusiness Chapter, he was named the Outstanding Young Farmer in the nation in 2000.
Williams and his wife, JoAnn, served on the planning committee for the successful 2004 National Young Farmer Education Institute.
Tim Keown, Agricultural Education Teacher at Creek Bridge High School in Marion County, is the advisor to the Britton’s Neck Young Farmer-Agribusiness Chapter.
