COLUMBIA, SC…Kip Beam, Agricultural Education Teacher at the Chester County Career Center, has been named the Outstanding Young Farmer and Agribusiness Advisor in the Mid-State Region, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs for the SC Agricultural Educators Association.
Beam, advisor to the Chester and Blackstock Young Farmer and Agribusiness Chapters, was presented the prestigious award by the SC Young Farmer and Agribusiness Association at a recent state conference in Hilton Head. He was one of four agricultural educators to be recognized.
The Young Farmer and Agribusiness organization is the primary program of local Agricultural Education Departments for adult agricultural education and training.
“Mr. Beam is one of South Carolina’s outstanding young agricultural educators,” Parris said. “His exemplary leadership as a professional agriculturalist is widely known and bringing much deserved recognition to Chester County”, he added.
A graduate of Clemson University with a BS Degree in Animal Science and a Master’s Degree in Animal Nutrition, Beam has completed the requirements for state certification as an Agricultural Educator. He was County Agricultural Agent with the Clemson University Extension Service for four years prior to accepting the position of Agricultural Education teacher at the Career Center where he has served for two years.
