HAWKINS IS OUTSTANDING ADVISOR IN LOWER STATE REGION

COLUMBIA, SC…Barry Hawkins, Agricultural Education teacher at Edisto High School, Cordova, has been named the Outstanding Young Farmer and Agribusiness Chapter Advisor in the Lower State Region of South Carolina by the SC Young Farmer and Agribusiness Association, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs with the association.

Hawkins, advisor and treasurer of the Edisto Young Farmer and Agribusiness Chapter and co-advisor of the Orangeburg County Young Farmer and Agribusiness Chapter, has been the Agricultural Education teacher at Edisto High School since 1997.

A graduate of Clemson University with BS and MS Degrees in Agricultural Education, he has previously been recognized as the Outstanding Agricultural Educator in South Carolina and awarded the Honorary FFA Degree. He currently serves as Secretary-Treasurer of the SC Agricultural Educators Association.
