SC YOUNG FARMER AND AGRIBUSINESS STUDY TOUR SET

BAMBERG, SC….The SC Young Farmer and Agribusiness Association will hold its annual educational tour in Horry County, July 20-21, according to Henry Herndon of Bamberg, president of the state adult agricultural education organization.

“The tour is being planned and coordinated by Harry Dubose, Agricultural Education teacher at Carolina Forest High School and the local Agribusiness Chapter near Myrtle Beach, in concert with other Agricultural Educators in Horry County,” Mr. Herndon said.

Highlights of the tour will include a visit to the Horry County Solid Waste Authority to observe conservation technology involving recycling programs for residents, businesses and schools.

Other points of interest will be Hardee’s Equipment Manufacturing Company, a tobacco farm, a winery, Grand Dunes Golf and Country Club, Dixie Stampede Show Facilities for training equine performers, and the Cal Ripkin, Jr., Athletic Complex.

Agricultural Education teachers throughout the state have details on the tour as well.
