NICHOLSON NAMED RECIPIENT OF STATE AGRIBUSINESS AWARD
COLUMBIA, SC…Ryan Nicholson of Pageland, SC, has been named recipient of the Outstanding Agribusiness Award for 2007 by the SC Young Farmer and Agribusiness Association, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs for the adult agricultural education organization.
The presentation was made by Edsel Williams, executive treasurer of the organization, on behalf of the Pee Dee Savings Bank of Marion, SC, sponsors of the prestigious state award in concert with the SC Young Farmer and Agribusiness Association.
A member of the Central Young Farmer and Agribusiness Chapter, Ryan and his brother, Jason, are partners in Nicholson Farms. Ryan is a member of the board of directors of the Pageland Farmers Market.
Nicholson Farms operates a wholesale division at the Pageland Farmers Market and a retail store in Monroe, NC. They market vegetables, fruit, baled pine straw and mulch.
Ryan and Jason are graduates of Central High School in Pageland, SC, where they were active members of the FFA.
Central High School Agri-Science and Technology Instructor Tim Maye serves as advisor to the Young Farmer and Agribusiness Chapter.
