SANDIFER IS PRESIDENT-ELECT OF AGRICULTURAL ASSOCIATION
COLUMBIA, SC….Jeff Sandifer of Barnwell, SC, has been named president-elect of the South Carolina Young Farmer and Agribusiness Association, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs for the association. He was elected to this prestigious agricultural education leadership position at the recent state conference of the organization held in Myrtle Beach, Parris said.
Jeff, a fourth generation farmer, is co-owner and manager of Steve Sandifer and Son Farms in Barnwell County. He is a graduate of Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College with an Associate Degree in Plant Science and Clemson University with a BS Degree in Agricultural Mechanization and a Minor in Agricultural Economics.
A member of the Board of Directors of the Barnwell County Farm Bureau, Jeff also serves as a member of the Advisory Boards of the Agricultural Education Department at the Barnwell County Career Center and the Barnwell County Extension Service.
Jeff was selected as the recipient of the SC Young Farmer and Agribusiness Association Scholarship to attend the National Young Farmer Education Association’s Institute in Orlando, Florida in 2004. He served as a delegate to the National Young Farmer Education Institute in 2005 and 2006.
A successful row crop farmer, Jeff has been named state champion in cotton, soybean and peanut production in recent years by the SC Young Farmer and Agribusiness Association.
Jeff and his wife, Mindy, who serves as the Agricultural Science Education Teacher at the Barnwell County Career Center, have one son, Weston Rhett.
