JONES RECEIVES TOP STATE AGRIBUSINESS AWARD
COLUMBIA, SC…Jeff Jones of Iva, SC, has been named the s ta te winner in Agribusiness for 2009 by the SC Young Farmer and Agribusiness Associa tion, according to John W. Parris, s ta te direc tor of public affairs wi th the organiza tion.
The owner and opera tor of Jones and Sons Logging, Inc., he has diversified his agribusiness to include harves ting and marke ting of hay and the removal and spreading of chicken li t ter for Sou th Carolina and Georgia farmers.
In addi tion to his successful agribusiness, Jones owns and manages 126 head of beef ca t tle and produces small grain on 150 acres.
A member of the Anderson County and South Carolina Cattlemen’s Associations, Mr. Jones is also an active member of the Crescen t Young Farmer and Agribusiness Chap ter. His advisor is Tim Keown, agricul tural educa tion ins truc tor a t Crescen t High School.
