COLUMBIA, SC…Jason Faulk of Britton’s Neck, a member of the Britton’s Neck Young Farmer and Agribusiness Chapter, was recognized recently as the state champion in non-irrigated corn and wheat production by the SC Young Farmer and Agribusiness Association, according to John W. Parris, state director public affairs for the organization.
Mr. Faulk produced 290.04 bushels of corn per acre using the Augusta 0606-CBLL variety. He was awarded a cash prize by the Pioneer Hybrid International and Monsanto companies.
In the wheat production category, Mr. Faulk produced 88.46 bushels per acre using the Pioneer 26R12 variety. Mixon Seed Company presented him a cash award.
Jerry Pace of Britton’s Neck serves as advisor to the Britton’s Neck Chapter.
