HAWKINS IS OUTSTANDING ADULT AGRICULTURAL ADVISOR

COLUMBIA, SC…Barry Hawkins, Agricultural Education Instructor at Edisto High School, Cordova, was recently named the Outstanding Advisor in the Lower State Region by the SC Young Farmer and Agribusiness Association, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs with the organization.

A graduate of Clemson University, Mr. Hawkins has a MS in Agricultural Education and has taught for 26 years. He has been at Edisto High School for 11 years where he serves as advisor to the local adult agricultural education organization.

Mr. Hawkins has been recognized previously as the Outstanding Young Farmer and Agribusiness Advisor in South Carolina and recipient of the Outstanding Teacher Mentor Award in the Southern States by the National Association of Agricultural Educators.
