COLUMBIA, SC…Nathaniel Rhodes of Rowesville was recently recognized as the State Runner-Up in the Non-Irrigated Soybean production competition by the SC Young Farmer and Agribusiness Association, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs for the organization.
Mr. Rhodes, a member of the Orangeburg Young Farmer and Agribusiness Chapter, produced 40.9 bushels per acre using the Delta Pine 7800 variety. He received a cash award from the Monsanto Company.
James Ulmer, Agricultural Education instructor at Lake Marion High School, serves as the advisor to the Orangeburg chapter.
